Maximising Audio Quality
Note accuracy is directly correlated with audio quality. It's the most important factor in getting accurate notes in VetNotes.
5 Steps to Maximise Note Accuracy by Improving Audio Quality
1. Microphone Choice
A good quality mic is very important. We recommend:
-
USB Mic for most clinics: Razer Seiren V3 Mini (~$60USD)
-
Wireless mic for large consult rooms: DJI Mic Mini (~$80 USD)
-
When using mobile devices, place the device close to you.
2. Communication style
To maximise note accuracy, you may consider;
-
Speaking slowly
-
Summarising key info back to the client, eg "Ok so Fluffy has been vomiting for 3 days..."
-
Clearly articulating key info, eg which pharmaceuticals you're giving
3. Proximity
-
Ideally be within 1-2 metres of the mic
4. Directionality
-
Ideally face the microphone
-
Avoid having it behind an object (eg computer screen)
5. Echo
-
Echo will degrade the microphone performance
-
This can be easily solved with in-expensive acoustic panelling on the walls (~$40 US)
